Kirkby Thore Parish Council has recently received news that Cumbria Classic Coaches has applied and been granted, permission to operate a public bus service along the A66 from Kirkby Stephen to Penrith.

The new 574 service will operate on Tuesdays only and is due to commence on 31st January 2017.

The 563 Penrith – Appleby Stagecoach bus service calls at Kirkby Thore and Temple Sowerby; it includes 3 return journeys, Monday to Friday. The first Appleby – Penrith service and final Penrith – Appleby service go up to Sandersons Croft. The 563 is still on trial so please do use this service to help get it established.
