Dog Fouling

The Parish Council continues to receive numerous complaints about dog mess.  Dog mess which is left on the village footpath and the recreation field is a health risk.  Always remember to take a bag or poop scoop.  You can put wrapped dog waste in a dog waste bin or take it home and put it in your blue household waste bag. If the Parish Council is made aware of who is responsible for letting their dog foul then they will be reported to Eden District Council and could face a fixed penalty ticket of £75 and possibly a fine of up to £1000.

Help to Make a Difference in Eden

We know you’re out there- and we know who you are!  - young, not so young, older, male, female, married, single, divorced,       working, homemaker, studying (etc, etc!).

Whatever fits, we’d like to hear from you if you have an interest in the wellbeing of families, and have a couple of hours a week to spare.  Could you … help out with children, provide a parenting role model, help families attend important appointments, or offer a listening ear to a family having a difficult time?  We are currently particularly short of volunteers in Upper Eden, but would welcome interest from anywhere in Eden. After 20 years of supporting families and volunteers we think we’ve got it sussed!  If you’d like to know more please contact me, Sarah Craig, at East Cumbria Family Support on 01768 862917 for an informal chat. This is an appeal to you, but also something you can circulate amongst your friends, family and local community.  ACT are working with communities who would like to bring people together by setting up a Good Neighbours Scheme.  There is support and start up grants available to groups, further information can be found here.

Affordable Warmth

The Affordable Warmth Scheme helps those experiencing fuel poverty.  The scheme is being reviewed by ACTion with Communities and Churches Together and these organisations would like to know your views.  Further information can be found here.
